The First album by Alao. There will be more soon to come.
Free MP3 Music Store
Sell downloadable mp3s with our free componet for Joomla. Joomla is a very popular open source content management system and drives many website on the web. There is no need to learn how to write code and you can get your website up and running in less than a week. Why pay Itunes and other third party distributors when you can keep all of your profit using Paypal. You can also implement micro-payments if you expect most of your sales to be below $10. Paypal charges $.05 + 5%, so for a .99 cent download you keep .90. So why not give Maian Music a chance, you will be glad you did.
Maian Music for Joomla will soon be no more. Thanks to all of the people that have used and supported this project. Unfortunately Joomla informed me that i would have to refactor my code. Using the component name as com_maian15 was confusing people. It a huge undertaking refactoring this code so I have decided to stop supporting it.
Maian Music will now be known as Maian Media. HA HA got ya for a second didn’t I.
This is a lot more than just a name change. Over time I am going to gear this component to display and sell more than just music. Right now it is still very music focused but that will soon change. So what is in this current version? Well for one i have made it totally moduler. All of the stuff in the header are now there own modules. The fields in the settings are still there and work as normal so if you want to use the moduels you will have to disable the header stuff in the settings (Except for the cart module, it is detected once it is published and is hidden from the componet). And there is a new languae file in slovak.
I have reluctantly added the ability to zip albums.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DISCLAMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is totally dependent upon server configurations I’m using standard php read file to send the bytes to limit memory allocation, however I know there will be people running into issues. You can post it on the form but there is NO guarantee that i will know how to fix it. If it is causing problems then turn it off. Ziping files can eat a servers resources so if you cause a hiccup don’t come crying to me. Also from time to time you will have to clear the joomla tmp folder. Trying to remove right away was causing some issues.
In the next month or so you might come to AreTimes and find that the site is down for maintenance. I have a bunch of different things going on and I need to change the site to give it a more “corporate” look. So if you return and you don’t recognize thing don’t worry you in the same place. I do want to apologize for not answering the forums for a couple of weeks now. I’ve been putting a lot of time into the refactor so hopefully it will fix all of your problems :)
The Zip file has a read me that I encourage everyone who downloads it to read. As always if you find problems post them in the form. I’ve tried my best to squash the bugs but sometimes shit happens.
Thanks to all of the people who have given reviews on Joomla.org and have taken out the time to list the current bugs and they should be corrected in 1.4.3 version. Based on your feedback (mainly designhowyouthink.com) I've corrected some issues with the Add New Tracks Section. I'm eventually going to also add it to the manage tracks section as well but I am so not looking forward to it. The file mangeruses new version of mootools than what is currently used by Joomla. I had to do some serious hacking to get it working and I'm afraid that if I try to move it to the Manage Tracks section that it will cause some conflict with the js code for the sortables. At any rate it will eventually find itself over there.I'm also looking to move the languages to the joomla 1.5 standard so they will work more with JoomFish. This is also something I'm not looking forward to as well but I think it will make language templating a bit easier. Some other area's such as the look and feel are going to be addressed as well. Thanks again and until next time.
A new version of Maian Music for Joomla has been released. I decided to stick to a base 10 and just name it 1.4. There are some improvements that should ease the user experience but I'm not making any promises. Some of the new enhancements are:
Front end Language Selection (some of the language file are not fully translated) New upload/ file manger (reading the ID3 tags) A new update function (instead of reinstalling just a couple of clicks and your good to go) Sale reconciliation (for the sale that for some reason won't go through ) And a list of bug fixes that I can't remember.
I was going to hold off on releasing it until I could test it out on a Mac but I can't find anyone with one that has the time to test for me. I'm working on pro version that will have a couple more features and it will be more geared toward record labels so stay tuned.
One of the main reason I keep this component free is because I want to help individual artist since they are the ones who always get screwed in the end. Also I am not God, meaning I'm not perfect and I do make mistakes. This apparently piss off ungratful bastards who don't realize I have a life outside of coding. Having said that I must re-iterate that even though I try to answer all of the question on the forum I constantly have people contacting me with ftp and joomla login details. I will and do not access the back-end of a website with out getting some type of donation. The component is free my time is not!! Now that I have gotten that out of the way I hope everyone enjoys the new features that I added. Your feedback and reviews are greatly appreciated.
